What to expect during your Uncommon interview

Congratulations on being selected for an interview with our Membership team!

We’re looking forward to getting to know your career story, goals, and challenges during our call. The objective of the interview is to better understand where you are in your career, what professional and personal milestones you would like to work towards and how Uncommon can help accelerate your growth.

Here’s a quick background about Uncommon.

A SPACE DESIGNED FOR WOMEN TO GET AHEAD

Uncommon is a professional network for female leaders founded in Singapore. Our story began in the midst of the pandemic in 2021, but the seeds of the idea began years earlier.  Having spent over a decade in various commercial and leadership roles in big tech, our founder Yolanda experienced first-hand how isolating being a female leader can be.

The leadership playbook that seemed to work for her male colleagues didn’t feel like it spoke to her; traditional notions of networking – like conferences, networking sessions, and the golf course – felt cold, inauthentic and often fruitless.

Tired of the lack of support and spaces for women leaders to meaningfully connect and grow, Yolanda started Uncommon in 2019, originally as a dinner series among friends. Quickly realizing there was a genuine need for women to have a third space between their home and the workplace where they can embrace all facets of themselves, Uncommon has since grown into a powerful community of hundreds of women with an evolved membership offering.

This starts with our 360-degree personal and professional approach that leverages the power of executive coaching, an inner circle of relevant peers and exclusive content and resources to help our members gain the courage to lead authentically. To date, we’ve organized hundreds closed-door speaker series and expert-led workshops and intimate community dinners around topics like fear, fertility and power, with plenty more on the pipeline.

WHAT TO PREPARE

During our conversation, we will share Uncommon’s community philosophy and vision with you. Ahead of our call, we also invite you to think about the legacy that you would like to be remembered for, personally and professionally.

  1. Is there a specific goal or milestone that you would like to work towards?

  2. What are you looking for in a community of female leaders?

  3. How has your vision for success changed (or been reaffirmed) throughout the Covid-19 pandemic?

  4. How can you contribute to Uncommon?

If you haven’t received your invitation to book your interview, you can apply to Uncommon here.

We look forward to speaking with you,

The Uncommon Team
